Home Based Socialization Room
Built in 1881, the Coburn School housed Lewiston’s first Kindergarten in the early 1900s. It is now the head quarters for Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care. With three part day classrooms, the Home Based socialization classroom, the Enrollment Office, and our Main Offices, it is a lively place to work.
The playground was recently updated with new climbing equipment, and has a track for tricycle riding, sand boxes, and a swing set. During the summer months, the children grow their own vegetables in raised garden beds.
The main office at Coburn houses our Enrollment Office, Executive Director, Human Resources, Finance, Health and Nutrition, Social Services, Volunteer, Training, Community Relations, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Family Child Care offices.
